Located in the southern part of the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James territory and on our exclusive rights area of Lake Hébert, Lake Charlotte has offered spectacular walleye fishing for over a decade. Air Tamarac offers Lake Charlotte exclusively for catch-and-release fishing. This choice preserves this fishing paradise, which also enjoys unparalleled privacy. It’s hard to find a better walleye-fishing outfitter!

You’ll be able to eat fish on site, within the size limits, but you can’t take any home. It is a lake 4 km long by 1 km wide, where you will find an abundance of walleye and monster pike at each end of Lake Charlotte.

Lake Charlotte: your private cottage

The Lake Charlotte cottage has two closed bedrooms and can accommodate 2 to 5 people for a stay starting or ending on a Friday. This cottage is made of wood of the “room-on-room” type and fully equipped with solar power. You will be able to appreciate to the highest degree the charm and isolation of a fishing package in northern Quebec, and in our outfitter.

Equipment

On Lake Charlotte, our modern aluminum boats, Princecraft Yukon 15, are equipped with Mercury 8 HP 4-stroke outboard motors. Both boats come with swivel seats, a fishing net, and life jackets. These modern amenities make it easy to access nearby fishing spots around the chalets.

Personal belongings

Our packages are on a European plan. You must bring your own food, drinking water and personal belongings. You should also plan for:

Fishing equipment and bait
Fishing license (available at our office)

Sleeping bag, pillows, towels, dishcloths, etc;
In addition to your sleeping bag, bring a single fitted sheet to fit over your mattress (for couples, a Queen fitted sheet covers the 2 mattresses);
Paper towels, napkins and toilet paper;
Tamarac cap, sun lotion and sunglasses;
Rain gear, boots and warm clothing;
Mosquito repellent (net, washer and thermacell recommended between June 15 and July 15);
Threading knife and sharpening stone;
Garbage bags, Ziploc, plastic wrap;
Drinking water;
Salt, pepper, sugar, condiments, etc;
Soap, dish soap and cleaning products to keep you and your cottage clean until the end of your fishing trip;
Please note: a case of 24 beers in cans weighs 17 lbs less than in bottles (18 lbs instead of 35 lbs).

At Air Tamarac, we offer personalized service throughout your stay at Lake Charlotte to make it an unparalleled experience. Your pilot takes the time to settle you in, explain all the equipment available on-site, and brief you on forest safety measures. Departing from our base in Clova, here is what is included in the Lake Charlotte package:

To help you avoid exceeding the 110-pound luggage limit per person allowed on the seaplane, while still allowing you to bring what you need, we offer to deliver beer and drinking water to your cabin before your arrival. This service is available at a reasonable fee.

Departure from Ste-Anne-du-Lac (Mont-Laurier region) supplement per person of $830 (group of 4 – 6 – 8) or $960 (group of 2 -3 -5 -7).

Fishing regulations

Air Tamarac has exclusive rights to fish on Lake Charlotte. We are extremely proud to be able to manage this body of water. As such, we apply fishing regulations on Lake Charlotte that reflect our wildlife objectives.

Lac Charlotte is a trophy lake for walleye and pike, and we intend to preserve it. It is therefore operated as a catch-and-release fishery. You can, however, eat fish on site – we strongly recommend a maximum of two fish meals per week.

Walleye should measure between 35 and 50 cm (14 and 20 inches) and pike between 50 and 70 cm (20 and 28 inches). All fish outside these ranges must be returned to the water. Measurements are taken on the total length of the fish.
No fish may be returned.
The Government of Canada requires all boaters resident in Canada to hold a boating license. Fines can be as high as $250 for those caught in violation. We recommend that you take your exam online before coming to the outfitter.
