Walleye fishing

— Earthworms or leeches are highly recommended for walleye fishing. Use half on a jig or a full worm with the bottom bouncer technique (walker)
— Monofilament from 6 to 10 lbs
— Jigs: 1/4 ounce lead head (or 3/8 used in July, August and September for the depths) in different colors
— Plastic tails (mister twister style) in assorted colors of 3 inches (and more for 3/8 ounce heads); The best colors are: yellow, white, black, chartreuse, orange and purple; also bring tiny jigs for times when the walleye are more finicky; Berkley salted Powers minnows are excellent choices for tails (blue and silver color)
— Crankbait: Shad raps, Thin fins (blue), perch rapalas, Hot’n Tot, etc. for those who like to troll. Also Deep thunderstick, wally diver, Frenzy, etc.

Pike fishing

— In spring and late season: Daredevil spoons (Yellow-five of-diamond) and the classic red and white, Blue Fox Aqua spoon or Len Thompson spoons. In cold water, the Blueback Herring Swimbait is excellent, as well as Spinner baits and straight shaft spinners such as the Panther Martin, Blue Fox and Mepps.
— During the summer, pike will also attack jigs (especially double tails), Rapalas and Thunderstick because they feed mainly on walleyes and will then be around schools of walleyes.

Speckled trout fishing

Light casting rod with medium or light action. We suggest using a William wobbler type spoon with a leader of about 18 inches including a small hook coated with a large earthworm. When casting you can use the following spoons:

— “Meps Aglia” no2 red and white or no3 rainbow color
— “Williams Wobbler” gold or silver/gold — “Blue Fox Vibrax” small size for shallow water
— “Mepps Little Wolf” ¼ perfect for 2 to 4 pound lines
— “Bob-it” red beads, silver and gold blades with a worm
— “Rapala” silver no7
— “Mepps Comet”, silver or gold finish, yellow or red dots
— “Delphin Alligator” gold with red band
— “Toronto Wobbler” all chrome, with neon blue band or chrome top and silver bottom
— “Sutton West River” chrome and copper

A 2 to 4 pound line is recommended for speckled trout fishing.

Don’t forget your earthworms; about fifteen per person, per day.

For fly fishing, these artificial flies give excellent results:

— Muddler minnow,
— Delta,
— Dy fly,
— Nymphs.
