2024 in review

Dear sportsmen and friends,

During this festive season, the Air Tamarac team extends its best wishes and hopes your 2025 will be filled with love, health, happiness, and peace. We are delighted to share with you the highlights of the past year and give you a glimpse of what the upcoming seasons have in store at Air Tamarac, THE specialist in fly-in hunting and fishing in Quebec!

2024 IN REVIEW

2024 marked a successful first year for the new co-owners of Air Tamarac. The next generation is here, and we are proud of it!

It is with immense joy that we recount the events and memorable moments of the past season, which was finally a normal year—free of wildfires and Covid!

Once again, we experienced an early thaw. This trend over recent years allows us to arrive in Clova early and prepare the cabins thoroughly for your arrival. As a result, May and June were incredibly fruitful, with plenty of fish caught and many trophy-worthy catches captured in pictures. Several clients mentioned noticing an increase in fish size. Hurray! At least the quieter Covid and wildfire years had some benefits. 😉

In mid-June, we welcomed the Québec à Vol d’Oiseau filming crew for an episode about our beautiful brook trout outfitter at Lac de la Sauterelle.

In the months that followed, the fishing remained excellent, and so did the smiles.

We are incredibly proud to have hosted you and thank you sincerely for choosing us for your nature getaway.

PROJECTS REALIZED AND THOSE TO COME

Our teams were busy once again this year. Our exceptional staff conducted numerous construction and renovation projects for our cabins. At Lac Hébert, we built a new lookout on the western tip of the main island, offering a breathtaking view of the lake. This new post-and-beam structure is the perfect spot for your shore lunch or simply to relax after exploring the newly developed 2-km hiking trails around the island.

At Gouin Reservoir, we completed the replacement of water supply systems at all cabin sites. Additionally, we carried out necessary renovations to cabins #30 and #31 in the eastern Sarana Bay. These now feature new decks, fresh foundations, and an elevated structure for a more impressive look.

In the coming years, alongside our regular cabin and equipment maintenance, we are excited to announce that Air Tamarac’s improvement efforts will focus on our Gouin Reservoir facilities. Our goal is to gradually convert the cabins to solar energy and as already implemented at Lac Hébert and Lac de la Sauterelle, install indoor toilets and showers directly in the cabins.

For the 2025 season, we are proud to offer 15 and 20 HP outboard motors with electric starters. This new fishing tool will save you energy and time, letting you fish for even longer.

With superior fishing and hunting quality, comfortable equipment and accommodations, and dedicated, reliable, and courteous customer service, Air Tamarac strives to remain the destination of choice for anglers and hunters! Furthermore, with the addition of a new Cessna 206 to our commercial floatplane fleet at the beginning of last year—now consisting of five aircraft—you can rest assured to receive a service that meets your expectations
