Air Tamarac – Covid 19 – Bulletin #6, Mach 15, 2021

To our U.S. customers, we want to keep you informed of the current situation of COVID-19. The public officials in both Canada and the United States have extended the boarder closing for non-essential travel until further notice, that decision has been in place over the last year and has not been removed. There is still no news concerning the people that have been vaccinated for COVID-19. For now, they cannot cross the boarder even with a proof of vaccination. We follow the situation closely and hope that you will be able to join us and enjoy your fishing trip in the great outdoors!

On our side, we are preparing the coming season with all the necessary sanitary measure to keep both our customers and employees safe from the spread of COVID-19 at our office, onboard our seaplanes and at the cabin. Take care of you stay safe and healthy. We will keep you, as always, posted.

Air Tamarac – Covid 19 – Bulletin #5, June 18, 2020

Last Tuesday the U.S. and Canadian government together took the decision to extend the boarder closure for another 30 days: until July 21st.  They did not specify what will happen after that date, we still don’t know if there will be a quarantine required when entering another country or when returning to your country. For the customers who had a trip scheduled before this date you will be contacted by us this week to let you know what your options are. For the others, we keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!

Specially this year fishing close later than usual: on September 26, brook trout fishing and walleye & pike fishing are really good at that time of year. This will give you more time to organize a well-deserved trip in these difficult times. A great fishing trip with family or friend in an outfitter that offers fishing and lodging quality like nowhere else.

Air Tamarac – Covid 19 – Bulletin #4, June 10, 2020

During his daily press conference, our Government gave us the authorization to rent cabins for a maximum of 10 people preferably from 3 different address’. We do not have more information on the boarder situation, we hope that they will open on June 21st and will keep you noticed as soon as we know more.

Call us or email us to know our availability, come and enjoy a well-deserved trip in Quebec’s wilderness after these months of wait. We have several availabilities with a unique quality of accommodation and fishing !

Air Tamarac – Covid 19 – Bulletin #3, April 29, 2020

During his daily press conference, our Premier, François Legault presented the calendar for the progressive resumption of economic activity.

We are conscious that there are currently no opening announcements for outfitters. However, as the Premier mentioned, the other economic activities that are on hold are now the object of discussions so specific communications could be issued, soon enough we hope, regarding the reopening of our outfitting business.

And today, the Deputy Premier of Quebec announced that the roadblocks that restricted access to the region where our outfitting operation is were to be lifted on May 11th (before the beginning of our season). We are therefore very hopeful that we can start the 2020 season on the usual dates.

That being said, we are still waiting on our government to reopen our type of   businesses and you would then get your fishing trip preparation package with flight times and more information this year regarding our new Covid-19 sanitary measures applied at our office, in the planes and at the cabins.

For U.S. residents we are also aware that the public officials in both Canada and the United States have extended the border closing to May 21st and we follow that situation as well, hoping that you will be able to join us and enjoy your fishing trip in the great outdoors!

Take care of you, stay safe and healthy.  On our side we are preparing a great season and will keep you, as always, posted.

Air Tamarac – Covid 19 – Bulletin #2, April 20, 2020

Dear sportsmen and friends,

In these tough times, here at Air Tamarac, we want to keep you informed of the latest developments regarding the situation with Covid-19.

Good news first: we now have access to our outfit up north so we can hit the road to prepare your cabins.  We will do that on Monday the 4th of May.  Also, The department of Forest, Wildlife and Parks here in Quebec have announced that   dates for the fishing season would remain unchanged for 2020.  On top of that, we were able to get the fishing season extended to September 26 for Lake Sauterelle, Lake Hebert, Lake Charlotte and Lake Angèle so we can offer more dates if your early season trip has to be pushed because of Covid-19. Fall season is always an excellent fishing time of the year and we will have cabins available then.  Give us a call if you think it would be safer that way for you or interested in a second trip!

But last Friday the U.S. and Canadian governments together took the decision to extend the boarder closure for another 30 days; until May 21st. For the customers who had a trip scheduled before this date, you will be contacted by us this week to let you know what your options are. For the others, we will wait and see what the situation with Covid-19 looks like before making any more decisions for your trips.  Things are changing so fast; sometimes for the best.

And finally, we are waiting on the Quebec government to reopen the non-essentials businesses before we can accept customers.  The statement will be made no later than May 4th.  You will then get your fishing trip preparation package with flight times and more information this year regarding our new Covid-19 sanitary measures; at our office; in the planes; and at the cabins.

Take care of you.  Stay healthy, we will keep you informed and we are preparing this season to meet your expectation, so hopefully, you can take a break from all this craziness and enjoy your fishing trip in the great outdoors!

Air Tamarac – COVID 19 – Bulletin #1, March 19 2020

Dear sportsmen and friends,

In an abundance of caution, public officials in both Canada and the United States are temporarily closing the border to try and flatten the curve of the COVID 19.

Today we want to assure you that we at Air Tamarac have been and will continue to watch this situation closely. We know it is a temporary measure being put in place to help reduce the spread of infection and flatten the spike of patients entering the hospitals.

Our season is two months away and, in the midst of all this uncertainty, there are a few things we want you to be sure of:

  *   We have always and will continue to take the health and safety of our guests very seriously.

  *   We are planning for a great season and look forward to it.  Ice out should be early this year so that won’t be a problem!

  *   When the border is open and it is safe to travel, we will be open.

  *   When we open, you can rest assured that our cabins, boats and planes will have been thoroughly deep cleaned and disinfected with recommended sanitizing products. Our staff will maintain adherence to the recommended hand-washing & sanitary practices.

We will continue to update you on important information as it unfolds via our website, our Facebook page and personally by email when and if necessary.

We have a great team on board again with members you already know and some new ones we are excited for you to meet.

In the mean-time, let's all do our part to get our communities healthy, safe, and help reduce the spread.  We will get through the rest of the winter & early spring and we will all get through this together.

Feel free to contact us with any questions.
