{"id":1228,"date":"2022-01-04T10:20:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-04T15:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tamarac.ca\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2024-08-02T13:41:13","modified_gmt":"2024-08-02T17:41:13","slug":"2021-in-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamarac.ca\/en\/2021-in-review\/","title":{"rendered":"2021 in review"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear sportsmen and friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again, we find ourselves at the end of another successful year and, into the spirit of the Holiday Season, we wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our customers.&nbsp;&nbsp; We thank you for your support and wish you Happy Holidays and a year filled with happiness, love, health and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This special moment allows us to report on last season and announce what the next one has in store at Air Tamarac: \u201c<strong><em>YOUR specialist for seaplane hunting and fishing adventure in Quebec!\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong><em>2021 IN REVIEW<\/em><\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike the past few years, the spring of 2021 was hot and dry and, with ice out around mid-April, we were finally able to arrive by seaplane at our Clova base right at the beginning of May. Unheard of in nearly 10 years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But warm weather and drought often go hand in hand with low water levels and Gouin Reservoir suffered more than our other lakes. Walleye fishing, usually excellent in late May\/early June, was less easy with fish widely dispersed all over. However, our fishermen were able to do better and, later in the season, all were putting a large number of beautiful walleyes back to the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For their part, our trout lakes at Sauterelle as well as Lake H\u00e9bert for walleye have been faithful to their reputation&nbsp;&nbsp; with quality and sustained fisheries throughout the season. Years ahead are promising with our wildlife conservation programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And despite the borders closure during most of the season, we experienced a high occupancy rate, which allowed us to put our 5 seaplanes back service.&nbsp; What a privilege!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, the Canadian clientele, sometimes newcomers, who visited us in 2020 appreciated our services as well as the quality of fishing and hunting and remained loyal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, with the opening of the borders in early August, we got a taste of a return to normal life. The effects of the pandemic are fading and Air Tamarac is proud to have been able to offer you safe, calming and&nbsp;<em>essential<\/em>&nbsp;fishing and hunting trips!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visit the new website that we will be putting online very soon at&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tamarac.ca\/\"><strong>www.tamarac.ca<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also check some beautiful catches on your Air Tamarac Facebook and Instagram page<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong><em>COMPLETED AND UPCOMING PROJECTS<\/em><\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As announced, we have carried out major reconstruction work at our Sauterelle lake chalets so they can boast the same good-looking appearance, charm and level of comfort that you are used to. Chalet #1 got a tin roof, new door and windows as well as a pine tongue and groove interior giving it a great look, while chalets #2 and #3 now have indoor hot showers and solar powered lighting. Pursuing this goal, we will also equip chalet # 3 with a new tin roof and windows early in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the next season at Gouin, our team will focus on remodeling the kitchens of chalets #17 and #45 without ever neglecting the usual and normal maintenance and necessary improvements to our other cabins! In addition to that, a project for lakes H\u00e9bert and Charlotte chalets is underway concerning the conversion to solar power and indoor standard running water toilets.
